Facing Fear

Facing Fear

Oh 'gainst my trepid winds and foes
I dare come out alive
Far away from mountain tops
I dare flee to the clouds

Oh 'gainst my twisted whims
I dream of yesterday
Facing fear and fighting fright
Through the day
And into the night

Oh forbearance I wish I had
Wisdom some and patience too
To endure the taste of fortune's bite
I've sought it through and through
And lost it out of sight

Oh sorrowed gains I seek
Laughing from behind
Growing ever weak
I step into tomorrow
And darkness is all I see
