So Far

So Far

Now I know

That I need a reason

I can’t blame

The time or the season

For all my mistakes

As many as they are

They’ve followed me so far

It just goes to show

That no one is perfect

And this is true of me so far

I need my redemption

Or favored exemption

From this persecution

A cruel execution

Here’s my resolution

A mental dilution

A new constitution

To change who I’ve become

Under evil I’ll not succumb

My face I will break away

None will see it beyond this day

Its very structure will decay

Exposing a bright new array

A light that will shine through the scar

To keep its composure as a star

And this is how I have come so far

would be great as song lyrics. most of your poems should be made into songs. you could easily make a living as a songwriter

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
