i loVe yOu, mAma!
I’ve known her since the time
Two reproductive cells combined together and formed as one;
Since the time I first heard her voice singing lullabies
While I was listening attentively inside her womb.
And through the painful and long hours of labor
Where she introduced me proudly to the world;
The very first time I’ve felt her love;
When she held me tightly in her secured and welcoming arms.
She is the woman I know who is always there anytime I need her;
The woman who punishes me for doing stupid deeds;
A person who hugs me when I’m crying;
And the one who’s giving me comfort during my pain.
The one who works for long hours everyday
Just to put food in my mouth
And a home for my shelter.
The one I enjoy sleeping with during a cold night
For she’s always willing to embrace me just to keep me warm.
A knowledgeable lady who never gets tired to share her experiences About life and never falters in giving advices.
She will be the lady who will help her daughter
To prepare for her wedding day;
The one who will be sad knowing
That her children will move out from her
Because they will have families of their own.
A lady who will have wrinkles in her beautiful face
A decade or two from now on;
The one who will long for her children to come home
Immediately after work just for her to be visited
And not to be alone at home.
The one who will enjoy taking care of her cute grandchildren
And tell them inspiring stories.
An old woman who will look back during her earlier years
And will never regret anything even a bit;
The one who will be sent to a hospital
Due to a very weak and aged body;
The woman who will surely make her children cry
Buckets of tears when the time comes for her departure.
She’s the woman who made it possible for me to be alive;
She’s my inspiration and the very person
I want to share my success with.
She’s my Mother, my Mama, my Nanay
I love so much and couldn’t live without.
Two reproductive cells combined together and formed as one;
Since the time I first heard her voice singing lullabies
