Poem Commentary

I've read this book 4 years ago..

A Child Called "It"

I've read this book A Child Called "It"
So frustrating, so mean, and full of hate
I felt sorry for the child called "It"
Let's give him a name and call him David.

Every word his mother tells him
I feel hurt because she's so mean
How come she's doing this to "It"
Doesn't she realize "It" loves her?

"Maybe mother is just in a bad mood today"
That's all "It" can ever say
"It" wanted to show his love for her
But all she says is "It, just go away!"

I read this book about a child called "It"
So frustrating, so mean, and full of hate
I felt really really sorry for the child called "It"
David, I want you to know I'm just here for you
You can count on me and get a big hug, too!

I love this poem! I agree with cousinsoren. He said almost everything for me. You should share this with the world to raise awarness to child abuse. 10!

I can't think of any other way to share this poem but through in this poetry site. Thank you for your appreciation! It means a lot! :) I'm hoping that despite the simplicity of this poem, others would get a grand lesson out of it.

This narrtaive poem speak for thousands of thousands of children who are either negleccted, or Adults (usually parents) fail to devote premium time and caring to listen to them. The style is almost flawless, and the last two lines are a demonstration of how a child shoukl be treated. For its didactic quality and almost flawless composition, my rating is10.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, cousinsoren ^_^

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
