As I sit quietly with a book in my hand

You come up to him and in his front you stand.

You look at him from his head to foot and scanned

As if he is a member of a hideous clan.

I wonder why the way you look at her

Feels like she’s the ugliest character

That makes you to stop and stare;

As much as I want you to leave them and go away

My mind told me to think of another way.

So I grab a paper, a pen and my book I lay,

I will write something to make sure you’ll pay.

My hand starts to write as if it has a mind of its own;

My pen notes down: “They’re not clowns”

For you to stare at, laugh at and bring down;

So leave them alone and stop hanging around!

They may be unpleasant in your very eyes

But let me tell you this, I’m sure they’re wise.

They use their time not to taunt and despise;

Unlike you, whose life is full of disguise.

He works very hard day and night for his family

He needs to feed small mouths of three.

His wife had an accident and now cannot see;

His salary couldn’t afford to pay the monthly fees.

She will never be pretty and she accepted her fate

But she’s a loving daughter and very affectionate.

She touches the lives of people and celebrates

The simple things in life she appreciates.

What only matter to you are your looks and your status
