Please Give This Poem Just a Minute or Two
This poem will just take a minute or two of your time
So, please just bare with me for a while
Because I'll tell you something really, really important;
Through this poem I'll share with you what I have.
This may not be like the other poems you have read
Nor even good just like what others have created;
For I intend this poem to be a simple one,
No metaphor, simile, not even deep words and rhymes.
You may never knew me or vice versa
But this time I’ll introduce myself to you;
You don’t have to know who I really am,
I’m just a simple poet who uses her heart in everything!
I started making poems since God knows when
Every time I’m sad, happy, angry, or even feeling dumb.
Writing became my passion and a confidant to me
Because to “it” I pour every emotion within me.
I don’t care if people criticize my works,
Rather I thank them all for giving time to read;
Their judgments are the tools that I use
In order to improve my writing skills and poems.
I can create a poem about happiness or love
But not every one in this world could relate with that.
So most of the time I stick with reality
And write poems about life and sometimes its misery.
My poems are not all about hardships and hate
Rather it is an inspiration I want to spread;
My hope is to give something to those who are in need
That through my poems their spirits could somehow be uplifted.
I told you before that this poem will only take a minute or two
But there’s more I want to tell to every single one of you;
When living your life always think from the back of your head
And do things that are decided with your heart, indeed.
Living life may somehow be a pain sometimes
But through this pain we are becoming stronger;
We may lose hope along the way of our journey
But as long as we can still smile, everything will turn out fine.
Every single day of our lives we deal with difficulties
But as long as we, poets, have a paper and a pen,
We are rest assured that our tomorrow will be a brighter one,
Because through our poems we find solutions to our problems.
Others might belittle our poems and writings
But do not mind any of their criticisms;
There are still others who will appreciate our masterpiece;
As long as we put your hearts and souls into it.
