    Poem Commentary

    To my grandson.

    Libre (Free)

     Nacho libre quantum leap,
    paints red and white
    the good fight we keep.
    Green Panther eyes that
    make all villians weep,
    sutured face mask hunting,
    grasping them to heap
    by their hearts fainting
    blood of the red satin ropes,
    writhing muscles grapling 
    them as lost in their fighting,
    all them caped demon dopes.

    If the good and the evil
    were ever so ever pressed,
    impeccable golden warrior
    against the denizen devil
    he to be so suppressed,
    the right fight heeds not,
    as with the knights of armour,
    the fight heeds not to rest.

    For here is their surrender
    and we have it as proof of the test,
    the power that flying crosses
    really does them in the best,
    and we are libre, libre
    after that bloody mess
    as they are torn asunder,
    obliterated across my chest,
    because this theological solution 
    is at the behest of our salvation
    and it is our only sacred quest.

    "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." Ephesians 6:13. This poem reminded me of this scripture. The rhyming and imagery are simply superb. I can only imagine how honored your grandson is to have such a talented and caring grandpa :)) Thanks for sharing Ivan!
