A Chapter A Year
I'll turn the page to a new chapterThis book keeps saying more
I can't read into the future
So I don't know what's instore
A paragraph's long, but a page seems short
Chapter thirty came too soon
Although I'm still on twenty nine
Words of wisdom seem far and few
Those faded pages of yesterday
I thought I knew much more
But black and white turned to grey
And now I'm not so sure
So I looked ahead into the book
But the pages were all blank
I thought the end would come too soon
Then my heart and hope both sank
As my eyes looked to the ground
I found a pen in my hand
I realized then that I'm the author
And now I understand
I've written this book up 'til now
This story is all my own
My life, these pages, they all are one
So where will this story go?
I'll keep on writing a page a day
I'll continue to write much more
I'll write each chapter with all I am
Like I've never written before
I'll write a story of happiness
Full of laughter and of love
I'll write a story to dedicate
To my family and my Lord above.
