    Poem Commentary

This is for my cousin Karen...i actually wrote it on her birthday as kind of a birthday present...i hope she can read it from where she is in heaven...this picture is her when she was a child

    A Day in the Life

The sun hits my face this morning

as my children laugh through their bedroom door.

I sit there for a moment.

And thank God for blessing me with another day.

I go downstairs for breakfast, my husband already there.

He kisses me on the cheek and says, “You look beautiful this morning.”

My children come running down the stairs

and jump right into and chair and say,

    Mom, what's there to eat?”

I just laugh and think to myself,

    Now isn't this the life?''

I kiss my husband goodbye as he goes off to work.

Then I hop right into my car and take my children to school.

They jump out of the car at school and call over their shoulder,

    Bye, Mom, I love you!”

I drive myself back home and sit down for a second

    just to catch my breath

Then jump back up again, A mothers job is never done.

A few short hours later I pick my kids up again

I help them with their homework

Soon we sit down for dinner, we say our thanksgiving prayer,

'' Thank God for all we have been given.”

When I lay down for bed, to dream another peaceful dream

my husband walks in and kisses my cheek.

He says, “ Hi, Honey, How was your day?”

I say, “It was just another day in the life of someone who's loved.”

and that is how we should remember the dead for their life its beautiful great job

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
