    On My Mind

    The things on my mind while I slowly fall asleep.

    Laying on my bed and staring at the wall.

    Thinking about my life, how it starts to unfold before me.

    Thinking about the things you've told me,

    Things we want to do.

    Mistakes i've made.

     

    Going down my checklist,

    Did I tell you, “ I love you.”...too many times to count.

    Have I said all I can say...I think I have.

    Did I get you to smile...I'm not sure.

     

    Worrying I said something wrong, sleep does not find me.

     

    Finally laying on my back, I watch the shadows,

    The tree slowly waving to me, reaching out to me.

    I close my eyes and cannot fight the exhaustion.

    Another captivating piece. How often have we all stressed while trying to go to sleep? Worried that we did or did not do or say the right thing?...Love this. You are a great writer.
