A Divorced Fathers Worries
Trying to be a good fatherHoping to be a better dad
Giving my son chances
That I never had
I have made to many mistakes
This much I know
So worried that I am hindering his process
To adapt, to adjust, to learn and to grow
So frustrated he hasn't had it better
Knowing we are on the same course
Through lifes painfull setbacks
My child, like me a child of divorce
To often we miss each other
To long we must stay apart
How that must confuse him
Pulling on the strings of his heart
I will never be perfect
But I had best learn from each mistake
His wellfair in life depends on it
My childs happiness here is at stake
Can I handle the pressure
Will I crumble in the end
Dear God I hope not
In me, I want to be someone on whom he can depend
