    Final Words

    A stolen kiss
As soft as a babies breath
    A perfect moment
    To face before death
    A salty tear
    Rolls down your face
    The time is close
    I can leave this place
    Please dont worry
    The time is right
    I lived a good life
I am leaving it behind tonight
    Please dont be sad
    Please try not to cry
    I am at peace
    I am prepared to die
    I wasnt perfect
    I tried my best
Place a picture of my family
    Upon my chest
    They are in my heart
    I love them so
They are the last thing on my mind
    It's time to go

However I guess the way I wrote this, its the reader that gets to decide the meaning. So in a sense it can be about any form of death including suicide.

I guess I had it all wrong, my interpritaion of this poem was that of a person that was at peace with his or her descision to take their own life. Know that I know the true meaning of the poem I like it even more.

I really like poems about suicide. I am a little morbid I guess, I loved this poem. You have a great way of writing and expressing to the reader excatly how you feel at that moment. I have been reading through your peoms and you are really good.

Actually this a poem of a man dieing of cancer, saying good bye to his family. In a sense it is a form of emotional suicide but the subject herein the poem is at peace in dieing, after suffering for so long the effects of cancer. What I am actually trying to impart though is his last thoughts as he speaks his last words in saying goodbye.

No you didnt have it wrong again its called interpritation, you read it as you felt it. Nothing wrong with that. Personally I enjoy the fact it left people wondering I guess. If your forced to ask questions or it makes a statement it still left its mark. Is that not the making of a good poem? Don't fprget to different people poems can tell different stories to..

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
