    Showdown To Battle

    It is now all over
It has come to a end
Now begins the clash of warriors
That at one time called each other a friend

    The battle is looming
    The outcome unclear
Each strategically plans their next move
So much at cost, to lose is the fear

    Both size each other up
The line in the sand drawn
    At the outset of fighting
All hope for peace is gone

    Once we where allies
Both feel betrayed by a Judas kiss
    All this preparing for battle
    I will no longer miss

    Bayonets and battle axes
The scream of our war cries
We will battle and bloody each other
Vultures circle hoping for our demise

    Manipulative and uncunning
My enemy how did you think you could win
You may have drawn first blood
Steadfast charging foward I now begin

    No walking of ten paces
    No gentlemans duel
It may end in both of us defeated
    To each his own fool

    D.B. Johnson

Good to the point I liked it totally its your work and it made sense.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
