Cutting Loose
Light my lampSet me on fire
So you may see
What lights I have
For you
Or do you see
A shadow falling
Over me
To bind
And break
It's no
Mistake
You know
I'll stop
To hesitate
For you
I know
You're going to
A place
Where I'm not welcome, see
And I'll not wait
Or ride for thee
Cause it is you
On shortest end
When I will stop
This play pretend
You'd better duck
I'll find you struck
with wisdom too.
I'll save no rocks
And seek no clocks
For time is ticking
One more strike
For you
Only a stone to see
What's lying forward
There to be
A land to where
I can go across
Where I can have a better boss
Who doesn't play pretend
With little dolls
Of plastic.
Spare my ribs in me
For taking flight in air you see
A vigilance around a fight
For spirit filled and not man's right
To live my life
As one should ought
And not so twisted up in knots.
Blatent, there is one to pass.
Easily, I drop the brass
Of you.
