As the hourglass of time shatter within the crackled glass,
we are slowly running out of time.
We cannot change the past but we allow ourselves to embrace the future, of anguish and bee stings of the past.
They say forever is such a long time to enjoy eternity,
if forever is so long, why has it not embraced me.
I see a figure in my dreams,
wanting a simple hug or a kiss,
but all they see is the color of my skin, and they allow me a sinful kiss,
I am not the right shade of orange, brown, or amber gold, as the story is told, there is one who died on Calvary in we are made whole.
You may shun me for my race or mixture, faith or creed, but
forever will not wait on you, when we all are in need of love,
Love unconditional, lover indefinable, love forever,
so when you see others who are different from you, remember that you are different too, remember that they only want the same as you do . Love , forever....

Shades of color and different skin should not get in the way of true love..We are all unique and love should always be unconditional with feelings more important than outer beauty.,

Amazing poem, it was very well written. You bring a very valuable lesson to everyones forefront, that everyone wants love and we should not judge them upon their outer appearence.

beautiful poem it speaks to a world that is accustomed to judging based on race, nationality and stereotypes yet in a deeper sense we are all one :) nice

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
