Its Your Loss

Poem Commentary

Betrayal is the ultimate poison. Be careful, scorpions don't always hide under rocks.

Its Your Loss

'Like a naive child I extended my feelings to you
Like a python, you constricted me so that I could not move.
I never should have believed you
I should have known that  you would only last a season,
A minute, a hour, a chat, a reason,
You betrayed my trust in you, wanting more that could not be yours
Many people search through the pages of online stores and numerous chat rooms to find love, when love is right in front of them,
The love of self, the identity that is right within your reach.
There are some things that we just can't have
Be careful you might get bitten, by the deceit and lies that many people tell, to make themselves be more, look more, feel more, than they see themselves.
There are many people who wish to prey on a innocent face, don't let them fool you, you may get lost in the chase.
When you find that your feelings leads you toward what you think is love, remember love loves know one,
for many its lies and tales
Don't play with my feelings, or you may find that black scorpions will line your path,
Remember its your loss baby!
Name your poison.

Wonderfully written! How many people 'fall in love' with someone, some 'free spirit', and then immediately start 'constricting' their lives, and smothering the love that could have blossomed had it been left as it was? How many people are searching for an electronic love when they could be holding flesh and bone at home? Great poem, Chinablack. Thanks for sharing. 10

Nice.. I love it. Keep writing, And ill keep reading!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
