Life in a story
I remember the home work back in the daysHolding my cafeteria lunch with grey trays
The yellow bus passing by
A alarm clock to rely on, and to get up but why?
Looking back my childhood was rough
Full of stress and challenging stuff
A divorce and often was sick
My brain was ticking like a bomb tick, tick
Family issues and people at school
The world appeared so cold and cruel
Before my first story posted online
An my first laptop with a IBM sign
I remember playing sports in the yard
Going all out and playing hard
It was just me and the neighborhood kids those days
Then watching football on Sundays
Rarely had many friends at all
Most did not last, asI recall
Summers at my grandparents house
Plastic army men and watching what the tv may allow
Riding bikes with Uncle Mike
Watching movies that me and only my grandfather like
As my grandmother cooked some food
Not eating when dinner was done is considered rude
Uncle Brian and his tv shows and games
With his silly hair and his silly earrings, as we called him names
All in fun, nothing mean was meant at all
Random discussions are heard down the hall
Food addictions got me then
Started when I was about ten
Only to help from the stress at home for a little while
To finally relax and smile
The silence of two men haunt to this day
Filled with anxiety they had nothing to say
My father and my step dad
Two relationships I never had
