Time to say good bye

From this earth to the sky
Off to the heavens with a tear in their eye
14 years has past
A journey that has came full circle at last

A family pet who has seen so much in her eyes
2 children raised, a marriage and 2 more children so much to realize
Other pets have sadly came and gone
Like fall leaves that enter a lawn

Vacations and holidays
Football Sunday, baseball games and sunny days
She waits to go out and to come back in
Now a new phase of her life is to begin

Always missing someone to come home
Until he comes, back and forth she shall roam
In the mornings she goes out
To get the newspaper and travel about

When young children where hurt she often whines
Of concern, which is what a true pets heart defines
Growled at any stranger
A need to protect and sense danger

By her masters side is where she wanted to be
Munchkin was happy and worry free
She is no longer in pain anymore
A symbol of time, representing the beginning of a family core

From the start she was there
Ever since she was little, to see it all with in her small eyes and hair
As things have changed, she stood the test of time
When things where bad and in there prime

As a new chapter has begun like the rising of the sun
Another chapter is finished and done
To look back from where it all started
A small peice of history has now departed
