The 24 hour voyage
Gone with out a traceAway from home and my poetry place
Which is never a good thing
Despite the wild times and memories they bring
To indulge in such
Things that are llked so much
A casino not near Reno
Drinking something stronger than a cappuccino
The long drive is relaxing
With music and laughter, but mentally taxing
A urge and desire to be there
Enjoying the scenery with out a care
Food is either first or last
Gambling makes the hours fly by fast
Mentally numb but how come?
Drinking totals slowly amount to a high sum
From machine to machine
Hitting every cheap slot to be seen
Either win or lose
We all take our risks and pay our dues
The night end like a iron man race
Finishing playing then cashing out at a very fast pace
To the van and back to point A
What a great time, that's all we can say
Thunder and lightening existed
Raising our legs while sitting as we past train tracks cannot be resisted
Rain poured for a while
Puddles where everywhere like a style
At a friends house nearly two
In the morning that is, in time to be at the gym in a few
Early breakfast at around 6, rise and shine
Croissants, eggs, sausage and bacon never mind the wine
Packing up and getting ready
Backing out of the drive way safe and steady
To the gym trashed and half awake
Only a fitness schedule is really at stake
lifting weights and walking up a electronic made hill
Hitting the bench for a thrill
Maxing out at 225
5 pounds from tying a personal best, feeling alive
Then one more refill of the water bottle
Driving home full throttle
Only to forget to get some gas
A turn missed, temporarily made a pass
Turned around got gass then went home
Where little sisters and toys roam
Unpacking and now sitting here
With a new story to be told and to appear
