The desire of a child
A sickly child is laying downTrying to stay happy avoiding a frown
The fever is up then down so far
She can only watch TV or a passing car
Just wanting to play
Why does she feel sick all day?
Play catch and to run outside
Maybe run around or go for a bicycle ride
So young yet often sick
Never recovering very quick
Medications often on hand
For year round demand
Rest is the common routine
Even if it sounds mean
Soon she will be better again
Not knowing when
Water by her side
A blanket also shall reside
As tv is on, a football game is playing
She just wants to be a normal kid, that is the common saying
Face and ears are burning red
As time gets closer to go to bed
