     Tryin to be perfect
    Tryin not to let you down
    Honesty is honestly the hardest thing for me right now
    I'm still standing here holding the roof
    Cause it's easier than telling the truth
    Oh still tryin not to let you down.

    You ask me if I'm okay
    Honestly I'm just trying to make it through the day
    But I keep tellin you those half-lies
    And you won't look me in the eyes
    To see for yourself
    That I'd honestly just rather die
    You'd just rather believe my lies.

    Honesty is honestly the hardest thing for me right now

    I don't want this love to be the end of me
    This love is taking all of my energy
    After loving you, I put my heart on a shelf
    Afraid to take it down for someone else
    It's broken and mangled, all the ties and knots tangled
    But as far as you know it's still perfect

    I'm fine (when I'm with you)
    I'm not cryin (while someone else is around)
    I've moved on (to just waiting)
    I've forgotten us (while drowning in this bottle)
    I'm being perfectly honest
    Without telling the whole truth

    You captured the deceit and face of one who is trying to pretend nothing is wrong. At the same time they are being consumed alive from the hurt. 10

    To be perfectly honest this poem is awesome!!! Sometimes the harsdest thing in life is to try to be something we are not, why try? Why not be your yourself? If the person you speak of has a problem with that that isn't it thier problem and not yours? You make it your problem by trying paint on a happy face as one of my friends puts it. We often create masks of all shapes and sizes and expressions to try and hide the truth of how we feel, our inner emotions. The reason is because society doesn't want honesty. One of the greatest ideal in society is truth above all else, but truthfully people only want the truth when it fits into the perfectly created box of illsusions. The real truth is most people would rather believe a nicely painted lie than an ugly truth, this is the real truth, this is honestly being honest so to say! You have put so much energy into being someone and something you aren't what is left? When you put sop much of yourself into a relationship that you lose the very part of you that makes you u, than all that is left is a pit of emptiness that knowns no bottom. Trust me I have learned this the hard way, all to many times, not worth the price you will pay. It is much better to be true and honest both to other's and most inportantly to yourself... For in the end it is you that has to live with the mask you wear and if you wear a fake one long enough when you look in the mirror you will one day forget you are even wearing a mask, it will become your permenant face...
