The Way You Are
There's something about the way you looked at meThat just made my head spin, my heart skip a beat.
Maybe it was that night you took my hand,
Pulled me close, and showed me how you felt.
That's how I want to remember you,
Not how I knew you were.
You had to have something you couldn't have,
You wanted something more.
I want to know why with you my head spins,
Though you're nothing more than a confused boy.
You say one day we'll have a happily ever after,
But that I have to wait for you to be ready for it.
I know I shouldn't feel this way,
And when the night ends,
You'll be gone.
You shouldn't tell me these things when
Your words contradict your actions.
When you know what you want,
I'll be here, like I always have been.
That night made my head spin, my heart skip a beat.
This day makes my head hurt, my heart break.
One day, I'll have my happily ever after, though.
