"Nothing says The Blues like the back side of a train." this line blows me away. You are on another cosmic plane here with this write. Unique!

the inspiration for this was interesting ... a group of us listened to 3 vsns of the same blues song back-to-back, and wrote what came to mind ... that brought the first line, and i took a few weeks to dial it in ... ty for the visit and the generous note, Dah! -dh

ahhh.....breathe in the freedom of the open rails, and disregard the smell of unwashed hobos, if you dare, there is freedom in that pungent air, take relish in your soiled undies, for every vista holds untold stories:)

Indeed to be the one left behind is cause for the blues! This work is mourning and soulful like the sound of the passing Engines. Loved the whole feel of this one! One of my fav's!

Your emotions are genuine and real. It is a pleasure to read of them.

Up here in the north country the only trains we see/hear are those carrying taconite to the steel mills, no longer do passenger trains come to this neck of the woods. I am old enough to remember the days when AmTrak was the way to travel. Nothing like the horns to play it deep.

passenger trains are starting to make a comeback in the West :) exciting for us all :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
