Poem Commentary

this is a very different style for me, but an interesting exercise and a fun experiment ... thx, Balladeer, for your knowledgable encouragement, and all of the participants in the school of poetry for your contributions and discussions ... perhaps my only incentive to pursue triplets of iambic tetrameter, lol ... Native No More

This canyon echoes rumbling rails
while ancient creek bed holds its tales,
and diving falcons practice fleet

I was walking with my 84 year old mother on a restored prarie...took many years to restore....Suddenly she smiled and laughed and said "Oh, this is just how it was when I was little".....How sad that so much of it has been destroyed in one generation. Nice read.

As my avatar photo I used the Pleiades; I am stardust; my seed, a star; my energy is of the on universe and my home; somewhere out there. If we are to survive as a species we need to treat Mother Earth well and tend her crops. Only humans take and use more energy than they need and do not return it. This cause imbalance and imbalance is not tolerated by the universe.

Wow! I am glad I decide to check this one out. You have a profound way with word imagery and you seem to not have a problem making feeling flow strongly with those word. Powerful message, powerfully done. My Cherokee Grandfather would have loved this one too. Thank you so much for sharing it and keep on writing!

awesome! thx for the share! and i'll credit Balladeer with the inspiration through an "assignment" here at the School of Poetry :) awesome folks volunteering their time and expertise and love of poetry ... welcome to OP ... and ty so much for the read and the note! -dh

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
