I like how it distills down to the last three lines. Thanks. Is this suppose to be one poem with three stanzas or three poems?

one poem ... my intention was to expose something of the birds' life ... to highlight the seasons and each season's struggle ... as well as a reminder that the nest is there throughout the year, whether or not we are aware ... ty so much for the read and the note, aw3haiku! ... -dh

Its seriously tempered with contrasts and conformity, yet, gives voice to a whimsical observation of some of which is taken for granted...lovely write.

I do like that most vivid adverb you've coined: slushily. Hits the mark right on. I like to invent new words, too. Momently for momentarilly.

    ha! ;)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
