screaming signs
screaming signs
amazingly
we can have
new thoughts
come to mind
even after our
brains have been
cranking them out for
half a century or more..
today it occurred
to me that signs
were screaming at me...
and they made me
feel like a naughty child.......
turn
stop
wait
don't park
fire extinguisher
hot coffee
cold beer
no trespassing
private property
car wash
one way
beware of dog
pizza
line forms here
exit
entrance.........
then i thought-
if the signs all
disappeared
what would happen?
would we all
spin around in
circles crashing
into one another
starve , get attacked by
dogs or arrested for
going where we don't belong?
the signs screamed
louder at me as i
anxiously drove
home past one that
changed as it measured the
speed of my car..bad boy..
slow down ... that sign was truly watching
me and yelling fiercely
i safely got

perhaps i
don't belong
in society anymore -
maybe i should
move to where there
are open fields as
far as the eye can
see- no signs
my final novel thought
about signs- which
never occurred to me before today -
was the thought of shoving all the signs up
a big ass.
