     sleeping with the sun

    I'm lying in bed
    Its 4 10 in the afternoon
    I'm lazy
    The sun today
    Followed me everywhere
    Fishing
    Swimming
    Walking the dog
    He beat me up a bit
    And I went to sleep
    When I awoke
    At 5 50 I lingered
    Between the soft
    Cotton sheets just
    Staring at the door
    Knob.
    The sun was still
    Up and out there
    As the window airconditioner
    Hummed and bathed me
    I got up because my
    Mind started telling me
    To do this and check on
    That and started arranging
    Things into blocks
    Of time that end in 00. or 30
    In the next room where I
    Could see the bay and
    The blue sky my dog was
    still sound asleep
    So I got back into bed
    To finish waking up
    Slowly.
