Time Passes By
Time passes by, passes by.
All the while I'm wondering why, pretending to still be shy.
Like the little girl who stared into the beautiful blue sky.
Hiding behind what I know, making myself believes there’s no where to go.
Telling everyone no, no, knowing its only for show.
Time passes by, passes by and still I have yet to grow.
Faking a smile, just a few steps seem like a mile.
Looking back, I left a huge pile.
Time passes by, passes by and somehow I have lost my sense of style.
Everyone getting older, a lot of us have even gotten bolder.
Tired of lending a shoulder, this makes me wonder.
Time passes by, passes by and the fire
I once had is left to nothing but a smolder.
Lately my nights are longer and a lot colder.
