Enchanted Circle
Made my way
just north of Santa fe
to enchanted circle
today
A magnificent trip
wind ripped
through my hair
two wheeled thunder
and cool mountain air
First stop
at veterens memorial
read the names of those brave men
and the battles they helped to win
Black gorge
time helped to forge
stood there
looking at the river below
and
gazed at the mountains
capped with snow
Back on my iron horse
enchanted circle
and
a steady coarse
Red river
Taos too
Angel Fire
and skies of blue
Eagle nest
cold mountain lake
and
the best of
Enchanted circle
for
my souls sake
Saw
Ponderosa
and
pinon pine
that give us nuts
in the autumn time
Enchanted circle
where
one is always
sure to find
a friend
Enchated circle
I would ride again and again
Made camp
under some aspen trees
Enchanted circle
where my soul is free
What a rush
what a thrill
on an iron horse
my spirit
it does fill
Wild flowers galore
mountain streams
that inspire dreams
ski resorts
and
so much more
No time for
a siesta
because
around the next bend
lies Questa
and
my old friend
Will stay there a night
or
maybe two
Enchanted circle
is where
I am taking you
Someday
maybe you will take that ride
on
Enchanted Circle
where
souls glide
