    Smiles that Hide the Pain

    hurt
    I may have lost a friend

    time short
     I can see the end

    sad
    because
    I feel like
    I am just now
    ready to begin

    I smile for the sunshine
    I smile when it rains

    I smile to
    hide the pain

    the end
    is not what I seek
    the journey
    is the real gain

    and

    I smile
    to hide the pain

    sons are grown
    grands help keep me sane

    I smile to hide the pain

    all the blood that flows through my vains
    all the laughter,joy,tears over again
    still
    the dream
    I try to obatin

    I smile
    to hide the pain

    how do I maintain
    how do I sustain
    how do I remain

    I smile to
    hide the pain


    on knees praying
    that we see
    better times
    again

    and

    I smile
    to hide the pain
