Tent City
There is aTent City
goin up
in my town
where
every other neighbor
can be found
No more flat screen tv`s
or
video games
Policeman there
Taken everyone`s name
Soup cookin
in an old coffee can
an American flag wavin
above an oldman
I never thought
these times
were just ahead
So many
loosing their home`s
and
No place to lay
their head
There is a
Tent City
Goin Up
in my town
Doesnt seem to matter
where you go
LA, San Dieago
or
Sacramento
Tent City
and
someone there
you probably know
Bailouts for bankers
and
elite families
but
no bailouts
for you
and
no bailouts
for me
I have seen the young
and
I have seen the old
trying to stay warm
from winters` cold
in
Tent City
They are not
bumbs
slackers
or loosers
not druggies
or
even boozers
just yesterday had
a job
and
a home
Now alone
in
Tent City
