A Home to my Soul
There's no wayTo describe
Such a desolate place
Where my soul resides
Oh so hollow
So cold and alone
There is this dreadful void
When you walk away
And tears fall from my sky
Fall like acid rain
On this barren land
That we call "home"
But where do we hide
Where do we run
When this pain we feel
Is on the inside
Buried deep within
Such a lonely soul
Nowhere left to turn
Or tears left to cry
No bridges left to burn
Or hearts to break
It's safe now
For everyone else
'Cause they're better off
Without anymore pain
We find so many faults
In our own eyes
Somehow bringing everyone else
Standing around us
So low
So far beneath
In the end
After the things we love
Are destroyed in our wake
Crushed in our grasp
All we want
All we need
Is to be loved
Sick and tired of trying
We wish the effort returned
So all of us
That find ourselves alone
Hanging in the moment
We are unmistakably together
