Poem Commentary

I had a dream about religion after a long break from God...it feels so good to be home.

A Voice

In a hollow world,
I fell to my knees
And screamed awful things
To the naked walls
Of my bedroom.
Tears streamed down my face
When the walls
Did not reply.
Pain struck through my body
As I raised my voice
To another
That would never answer.
Finally,
I fell silent.
The paint and boards
Still did not speak,
Still did not pour out a single word.
I thought I heard
A whisper
From the winds beyond
My closed window.
I guess that's when I realized
I should pray.
