Hardly Hidden
Hardly HiddenHow can you say that you love me
When you treated me so coldly
Whenever I made the effort to try
You would scowl and deny me boldly
You’ll follow me around
Like a stranger in town
When will you leave me alone
Sometimes it’s like I’m on my own
Allow me to live in a place
Where people all know my face
And they’re willing to chase
The same things I want to taste
I laugh at the way you try to corner me
You forgot respect is a two-way street
You have excuses but there’s no need
To reason is like fighting a disease
Before long, it brings you to your knees
But you all seem to enjoy your esteem
Take it in and watch the moment gleam
While I lay back and fade into steam
Allow me to live in a place
Where people all know my face
And they’re willing to chase
The same things I want to taste
Can time forgive again
Or will I be forced to live within
The walls you’ve created for me
Even though I begged you for needs
Allow me to live in a place
Where people all know my face
And they’re willing to chase
The same things I want to taste
