Haiku Part 1: Safe and Warm

    In my hands gently
    lies a beautiful baby
    staring up at me

    Her eyes are pearl blue
Her little hands grab mine too
    She hears, 'I love you'

    Family is there
    A room united over her
    To witness this birth

    Miracle mornings
    Can happen in a lifetime
    This time, it was mine

    So new to the world
    My dear precious little gem
    Much more than a whim

    As we leave her there
With nurses who tread and swarm
    She sleeps safe and warm

Much is changed by extending the family. What an event! The family circle here is great in your poem. It ripples out in waves from the baby as the center of everyone's consciousness. Many working for the security of a single being. It shows where there is life there is also danger. And that care and love help us all survive the obstacles within our paths. Family expands the social circle of anyone. A poet friend// RH Peat

the poem is wonderful and caring and truly form a father in love with his daughter

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
