Poem Commentary

This is my interpretation of a journey to inner peace. Enjoy!

"The Voyager's Art"

The Voyager’s Art

Inward:

A shifty changer…
He swims in danger.
Dismisses disclaimers…
He miffs his chambers.
Through flippant mangers…
Simplistic arrangers…
Leave his instance stranger…
…than fiction tamers…
Now a dizzy claimer…
He’s missing anger.
A consistent lifted aimer…
now slips on liquid brain dirt.
He shifts his framework…
now insists his brain hurts.

Outward:

---------so-----------

He spits his vapors.
On litmus paper…
..…vanishes….
With this caper…
He lifts the acres…
…of lost ground…
gives them invaders…
if this way works…
he makes them pay dirt.
Yet his inner favor…
still seems wayward.
He grips his chain shirt…
…twists the grey earth…
if ripping makes burst…
it’s worth how they hurt.
He yells and states blurt.
He tells in ways curt…
though hells bells as they spurt…
he himself must stay vert.

The journey long and winding breeds strength.
This quest quells quandaries and breathes life…
Into the cold, faint, dead beat of a lost heart
The voyager who completes it without showing signs…
And finds his inner peace…is the crafty…the skillful..
The voyager’s canvas welcomes the vividly cool…
and colored parts of a brush which strokes through sharp…

----------------the voyager himself…is art------------------

Hahah you killin that rhyme scheme. So many ways you attack the fluidity of it. Nothing short of skill. It draws an attraction to your writes, and eases the transition of the meaning that much better. Its like he took what was inside and shifted it to art. From inward, to outward. How I saw it anyway. Fluid man. Lovin your skill.

Strange and twisted, tied my tongue in knots. Took me a minute to get it, but I love it. You are the wordmaster, Master Malik. You are my favorite.

lol - FIRST! ha! :) "he makes them pay dirt" ... what a great twist on that phrasing ... and love this theme, the inner and outer thrashings ... the outer bravado that often accompanies changes in inner "framework" ... and the tenacity required of the Voyager to stick with it even when the shifting sands of consciousness make him want to take a nap, lol ... nice write, Malik! ty for the post! -dh

Lol...a well earned FIRST for you dh lol. Thank you for reading and commenting. I love how you just dive into a piece and break it down aspect by aspect. This from you is much appreciated by me. :)

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
