    Poem Commentary

    This poem is about a moment with a girl i often forget but am fon d of when the memory strikes me. It is from the same girl who i worte the poem, "When we held hands" A part one of the three part story if you will of the moments between me and her.

    Intimate Waves

     There we stood, 2 15 year old teens with the potential to love,
    My she was the sweetest dove,
    We shared a moment that has stood the test of time,
    It seems to be my sugar when love throws me a lime,
    Redondo Beach was the place, Having fun was the game,
    Whod a thought id have a little romance just the same,

    We decided to test the waters and get wet,
    I still wondered what would have happened if this game was played at sunset,
    It was my idea to stand in the semi squat tradition,
    And let the waves knock us from out of position,

    So, little wave after little wave would come and anticipation would build,
    Then without notice, a big wave would come and hit us, we reached a new level of fun, thrilled,
    And again and again and again we kept on getting knocked,
    Each wave hitting us as we got rocked,
    But we didnt care, to us it was fun, there was joy,
    We played as if it was just one little girl and one little boy,

    It didnt matter then that i was insecure of my features,
    Or that our hair wet made us look like different creatures,
    For those few minutes i was hers, and she was mine,
    And there would be the first of multiple moments that would seem to freeze time,
    Later we had an even more intimate moment,
    But that story is for another poem calling for atonement.

    this is really great. nice writing on this. its really sweet about the wave splashing. "Each wave hitting us as we got rocked..." is a favorite. good write.
