Luke King's Dracula Part 5
Luke King's Dracula Part 5 83 LinesBut he, the grandfather of all vampires knows better, it simply is not in his heart,
The glow from his eyes fades like a cloud that drifts apart,
He loves this woman and cannot hurt her, vampire or not,
He gently lets her go knowing this might cost him a lot,
Still gasping for the breath of life left her,
He looking down intently upon her,
She looks at him her eyes widening and anger returning,
"WHY? Why did you do this to me? What have I done to you to cause this?"
She pounces on him eyes locked like heated targets,
"ANSWER ME!" she shouts as if the voice sounded like a thousand margrets,
"My intent was never to harm you" the vampire king said,
"The thirst is what burst through me, though I meant not to make you bled,
I admired your beauty and was caught up with lust,
If you are angry and want to give me my just,
Revenge fire away I will heal in time,
Whatever it takes to make you mine,
If it had been up to me I would have solved it then and there,
But the great one had his own plans up there,
Told me I had to walk the earth 2,500 years in wait and in search of you,
But I knew the day I laid eyes on you that I was in love with you,
The thirst simply blurred my path and I went astray,
A trick im told the devil uses to our dismay,
My plan was to wine you and dine you, as I have done all women in my life,
And show you a loving side thats good and without strife,
For my task on this earth is nearly done,
And I thought it wise to have won,
A woman's heart, vampire or human,
To reign with me in Heaven's busom,
Did not the great one tell you the plan?
Did he not say on earth there is someone, something, even a man,
Looking for you but he will never find you for a time,
Till the time comes which your heart would be sour as lime?"
And she spoke, "He did tell me the same and all has come to pass,
My heart once hard, is now softer than silk across glass,
I did not know you wanted to make things right,
I was blinded by vengeance day and night,
I forgive you of your sin, but i do not forget,
And im only forgiving you so i wont have regret,"
"I see" said Dracula, his voice saddened,
Another man may have given up or gone maddened,
But not this vampire, no, he is the king of charm,
Distraught for a second there, he fires peace where there was once harm,
"Why torment yourself any further sweet one? What's done is done,
Relax now, I'm not saying lets go have some fun,
Instead let me make it up to you for the rest of my life,
THE HELL WITH IT! WHY NOT! WILL YOU BE MY WIFE?"
As his voice raised with every word, she was taken aback by his request,
"Bold is this being" she thought, no matter how hard the test,
But she held her ground for in truth not much between them occured,
though in these last moments physical damage had incured,
"Silly vampire, you dont love me. It just cant be,
Weve never slept together much less dated between you and me,
And how can you love a woman youve met but twice?
Your words are more foolish than 3 blind mice,"
Dracula had an answer for her remarks,
His words stung harder than a bucket of sparks,
"Didnt know I needed to sleep with you to know that i love you,
Far as I was taught, love is unconditional through and through,
But human or vampire thats something you never knew,
If I didnt love you I would have since taken your lifeforce,
And sent it straight up to the great one to see what then would be his recourse,
But I knew then as I know now that action cannot be done,
And I wont give up until the course is won,
If I have to slay a million more demons just to win your heart,
It would be all the more worth it regardless of what comes apart,
But what I wont do is sit and be barraged by a battle you have already won,
No woman, vampire or human, is worth the riches promised under the heavenly sun,
Like I said, strike me, beat me up if it clears your conscience, desire,
But on I must move, where Im going youre sure to perspire,
I wont lose sleep on a woman, even if she is the thing I want most,
See ya sweetheart! " And like that he vanished, Ghost!
