    you can't help those who see no reason to help themselves...

    Love/Hate Relationship

     Your generosity and confidence,
    Your narcissism and temper,
    Your sensitivity and intelligence,
    Your stupidity and rage.

    Thoughtful, controlling, nurturing, condescending,
    One hundred shades of gray.

    How am I to reconcile these completely
    Different strangers into the form of one person?

    Which is the true self and which is the mask?
    Do you even know yourself?

    You are exactly what your parents made you,
    And yet you are exactly who you are in spite of their attempts
    To own and destroy you.

    I am so proud of who you are
    And I am equally disgusted by you.

    This seesaw persona is driving me mad,
    And only half of you cares.

    thats was tounchin..im a new member.and i have a few question...do these poems come from the top of your head or is this somethings your goin through...me i write poems when i feel a emotion..and i learned not to cry..but to write..ya kno

    for me, it is always a little of both. sometimes i take 'poetic license' to embellish details, but the majority is what i have been through. thanks for your comments, it means a lot to hear feedback!

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
