    Poem Commentary

    Losing a parent is bad... when you lose a parent as an adult, its kind of okay. Youve spent time with them, you know them well... but when your just a child, you grow up windering who he is and what he was like and you yearn to hear all the stories and you hold onto all the memories...

    Oh, Baby Girl...

     Hush little baby,
    dont you cry...
    Yes, I'm gone,
    but Ill never die...

    Ill always be here,
    just look in your heart...
    Not in life, or death,
    can we be apart...

    Dont you see, baby girl?
    Please tell me you do...
    I know I left,
    but I never left you...

    Im watching you now,
    I'm right by your side...
    Feel my hand on your shoulder
    as I watch you write?

    Lady Honey,
    do you see me smile?
    Youve grown up a lot
    in such a short while...

    I know what youre thinking,
    baby girl, yeah, I know...
    Because your tears show me
    all your thoughts from below...

    Hush my little baby,
    dont you cry...
    Ill always be with you,
    every day and night...

    Audrey, this is one of the most touching and beautiful poems I've ever read. You have such a gift with your writing, I hope you live a long and happy life, filled with everything you desire.

    I like this very much, although the last line jarred me. Wish you had said something like "'even after you die" or something that rhymes with cry. A comforting read.

    thanks for your comment. actually, "night" does rhyme with "cry", although not in the way most writers think of rhyming. :) glad you liked the poem though. ~Audrey
