    Before Love Became so Demanding

    Stinging blows painfully landing
    To pained broken heart
    Wounded pride and ego demanding
    The origin of it’s start

    looks that would kill from the eye
    From one with venomous words
    As one broken of spirit can only sigh
    From angry words they’ve heard

    Though heart grieve one turns to leave
    Before conflict comes to blows
    Hoping never again to receive
    The words spoken in the throes

    Of anger from lips that once spoke
    Endearing terms of love
    Mixed emotions cause one to choke
    From memories once more thought of

    Of a former happier time
    Of love and understanding
    A time of romance and peace of mind
    Before love became so demanding
