Fleeced
At what price do we set
The ultimate cost of progress
When urgent needs aren’t being met
As the filthy rich seek success
And they keep setting aside
Issues we need to address
As they paint with pride
A false picture of happiness
Saying have no fear
It’s all doable
We’ll get there
It’s achievable
For a small and reasonable fee
In a brief and conceivable time
It can be for all concerned a reality
With strong words they seduce your mind
Directing your gaze at a nice pipedream
Sending your expectations soaring like rockets
While like a master thief they ream
Your money deftly from your pockets
In convincing terms that sound so nice
They tell you of a brighter day
But you must make the great sacrifice
And a necessary fee to their cronies pay
And when the scam has been completed
As in past days of yore
And your finances are depleted
You realized you’ve been fleeced once more
