On my Way to Reality
On My Way to Reality
A funny thing happened to me
On my way to reality
After the act of being born
I traveled the highway called forlorn
Stopping only to refuel on dreams and visions
That would further power future decisions
That I hoped would lead the way
To a bright and better day
But on the way to reality I found
Indifference from others as I looked around
For they sought their own reality
And wanted very little to do with me
Some hitch hiked upon my dreams
To remain dry from the deepest streams
Of dire pain and adversity
Hoping I was a short cut to their reality
Some my most heartfelt dreams tried to steal
By telling me what I sought was not real or ideal
While others my visions sought to frustrate
By telling me I was moving too soon and to wait
Still others combed through my dreams with fine tooth comb
Leaving me feeling unloved and alone
While still others sought to destroy me
On my way to my reality
So as I continue on
I have much to reflect upon
But mostly how well God keeps blessing me
On my way to my reality
