As Once More
As Once More
I sat at the bottom rung of the ladder of life
Looking up at every possibility
That should I take on the toils and strife
At the top of the ladder that awaited me
But every rung seemed uncertain
And shaky and in disrepair
The least little fall could leave me hurting
And full of deep despair
But somewhere from within
I found the strength to climb
And so my upward trek I did begin
Climbing one last time
Gone was the youthful exuberance
That propelled me in days of yore
My mind recalling every circumstance
That caused me to fall before
Old and familiar fears and doubts
Made their presence known
As negatively they did scream and shout
What would happen should I go on
But throwing caution to the wind
My dreams and goals I tried best to balance
Determined this time I had to win
As once more I accepted the challenge
