Less Rights
Less Rights
In the sum total of actuality
We come to find so sadly
That police brutality
After all these years is still a reality
Black people and other minorities
Still face the silent beast of authority
As they have placed justice under so much red tape
The innocent has little chance for relief or escape
Has quotas now become the way
Justice is dispensed today
Is your innocence determined by what you can pay
Then wealth marks what you do or say
And if that is the ultimate truth
What manner of chickens has come to roost
In the home of the brave and the land of the free
As we still struggle for rights and liberty
Not just the blacks and Latino
But the whites and other ethnicities also
And if women after many a year
Still have to walk the streets in fear
Because some police officers take their time
In responding to the scene of a crime
That’s not to say all policeman are bad
But the few that are makes it so sad
And from the hidden injustice of Co- Intel pro
To the silent blue indifference we very well know
It seems a grave injustice after all this time
That victims has less rights than perpetrators of crime
