Farewell to a King
Farewell to a King Getting in my car I turned the radio onStunned when I heard a king was gone
Another icon of my life
Placed to shine in the sky of eternity’s night
A star of royalty blazing bright
The King of Pop who was such a delight
To his millions and millions of fans
That adored him across many lands
We watched his showmanship come alive
When he sang lead for the Jackson five
A young and budding superstar
Who knew that he would go so far
As to become a household name
Whose legacy will forever remain
Written across the pages of History
This king of pop whose boundless popularity
Propelled King Michael, music’s most precious icon
To a plateau that will forever live on
And on eternity’s stage we know he’ll do well
Weaving his magical musical spell
And when it’s our turn to exit life’s race
And we go to that special place
I know his performance will be electric and rare
To see him perform I’ve Got to be there
