The Mechanics of Life
The Mechanics of Life
Intricate inner feelings
Dark unspeakable emotions
Less than amicable dealings
Silly foolish notions
Dreams and visions of prosperity
An abject fear of poverty
An inane hunger for popularity
The desire for total anonymity
The driving desire to be a success
The desire to experience all this world’s best
The fear of the failure of heartache
To run from love for fear of heartbreak
The desire to commune with princes and kings
To adorn the one you love with precious things
To be totally free of toil and stress
And free of the fear of loneliness
These are all intricate parts of me
Things that I am and desire to be
things that bring both joy and strife
Components that make up the mechanics of life
