In Their Quest
In Their Quest
To live life to it’s fullest it seem
To me to be an impossible dream
For the things that I most desire
Seems consumed in denial’s fire
As it seems from day to day
More and more of life’s dreams fly away
Across the uncross able ocean of not to be
Making meaningful life a harsh fantasy
A vision of what seems can never be
To one of a mindset such as me
For no matter the path I trod
The stumbling blocks make each step hard
And the way that I must go
No road map or compass can show
Nor a sure direction no one seems to know
As I trudge on wearily, tedious and slow
This tarnished tear stained yellow brick road
Weather beaten and decaying from the load
Of those whom life’s barriers tried to breach
In their quest the Emerald City to reach
