"A THIEF IN THE NIGHT"
"LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT"
Auburn hair, green frock, she grabs the keys and runs
Off to the stable in the night air
The stable boy has her favorite horse ready, Honey Buns
For tomorrow she is to wed the nasty Prince
She just can't bring herself to do this
The thought alone makes her wince
You see, she is in love with another much to her father's demise
Unrequited love, nobody understands
She's in love with her hand-maiden, such a huge surprise
Her father the king realizes that she loves another
Raising this Princess alone he is clueless
All the help in the world, she still needs her mother
The Princess, Fiona and her lover, Sherry
Have the horses in the stable all ready
To take off in the mid of night, on to go marry
It is written that she is to be wed
Before her sixteenth birthday
Hours left is all she has, nothing else can be said
Distraught with heart break she must take off
Like a thief in the night
Before anyone can scoff
She had better ride far
Because as fickle as she is, she doesn't realize
She can't marry a woman, it'll start a religious war
On this night she breaks her daddy's heart
But she must get away before midnight
Her own happiness is just about to start
Or at least that is what she thinks
She and Sherry are beginning their life anew
Off into the night, each of them winks!
