"NATURE'S OMENS"
NATURE'S OMENS
{Dori Wheeler 14sept09}
The gentle dew on the early morning grass
Prisms to look like the most expensive crystal
Just as much as the ocean looks like glass
Do the fae folk sprinkle these tiny beads
For our pleasure and for theirs
And the mermaids smooth the water for the sailors lead?
The miracle of the chrysalis turn to dancing butterflies
The squeal of the hawk
Letting out it's cries
The tiny latern of the lightning bug
To guide young children
To their beds, safe and snug
The tail of a comet across the night sky
To let young lover's make their wish
On a cozy blanket, outside they lie
The illumination of a dragonfly on a cat-tail
Skipping across the pond in the sun
They look so sturdy but are really quite frail
I look to these, each a magnificent wonder
All with their own message; an omen
Just as loud as can be, perhaps like a clap of thunder!
